William (Bill) Jenks is Safeco's chief information officer, responsible for the company's Information Technology (IT) organization. In this role, he is leading enhancements to Safeco's logistics capabilities and technology infrastructure to drive lower-cost delivery of auto, home and small-business insurance products. Before joining Safeco in April 2006, Jenks served as executive vice president and chief information officer of worldwide operations for Publicis Groupe, one of the largest advertising and media companies in the world. Prior to his work at Publicis, he served as chief information officer for Heller Financial and for the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, where he introduced newly scaleable systems for high-volume global trading and brought wireless order flow systems to the trading room floor. Earlier in his career, Jenks held positions at Space Systems/Loral, Martin Marietta, Inc., Northrup Grumann Corp., and IBM. Jenks earned his bachelor's degree in Management from California State Polytechnic University in 1974. |
