William "Spud" Basham joined NuTech Energy Alliance in 2005. He is currently responsible for overseeing NuView, NuTech's proprietary 3D reservoir modeling business unit.
Mr. Basham graduated in 1979 from the University of Houston with a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology, and later earned a Master of Science degree in Geology in 1983. In his 30 plus years in the industry, Mr. Basham has held numerous positions:
President/Explorationist with Avalon Energy, focused on prospect generation throughout Texas and Louisiana.
General Manager/Explorationist with SouthTech Exploration, a group Mr. Basham helped form after developing proprietary 3-D surveys with Spudco Geological Services. As a direct result of implementing these 3-D shoots, the group completed 79 of 87 drilled wildcat wells averaging 3.5 bcfg per well.
Sr. Geologist - Gulf Coast Exploration, Enserch Exploration Co, focused on prospect generation and specific drilling recommendations throughout South Louisiana, Texas and State Waters.
Mr. Basham's early geological familiarity came while working with Getty Oil, Mobil, and Sandefer Oil & Gas.
Mr. Basham is a Certified Petroleum Geologist affiliated with the American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG) and the Houston Geological Society. Mr. Basham is also licensed by the State of Texas. |
