Bill has almost ten years of managerial, entrepreneurial and consulting experience. His industry experience includes real estate and homebuilding, steel fabrication, industrial manufacturing, and financial services.Prior to joining Mackinac Partners, Bill served as Chief Operating Officer of the privately-held family business, Banks Corporation. His accomplishments included the implementation of a decentralized operating system, an enhanced budget planning process, and the implementation of an economic value-added-incentive program. In addition, while guiding the Company to a managed-for-growth platform, he helped institute a Board of Directors and a roadmap for succession planning. While serving as Chief Operating Officer, he also worked on the divestiture of the Company’s remaining steel assets and the eventual outright sale of the Company.Bill began his career holding various positions within Banks Corporation. During this time, he successfully collaborated on a turnaround of the Company’s steel division. Bill also led the start-up of the Company’s industrial coatings division, where he was instrumental in building strong relationships with Ford, General Motors, and TACOM (US military). Bill was also instrumental in the formation of two stand alone companies M-Tec Corporation and Reach 360. Under Bill’s management and through various acquisitions and expansions, M-Tec, a steel parts manufacturer, has achieved annual sales in excess of $17 million. In 2007, Bill launched Reach360, a back office service provider of human resource management, accounting, and information services to small businesses in the Northern Indiana market. |
