William T. Sugg has been administrator of Sumner Regional Medical Center (SRMC) since October 2, 1989, and assumed the title of president and chief executive officer upon the formation of Sumner Regional Health Systems, Inc., in July 1994. Prior to his position with SRMC he was vice president for clinical and support operations at Nashville Memorial Hospital for five years. Sugg graduated summa cum laude from the University of Tennessee and received his master’s degree in health care administration from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas. He has received the Meritorious Service Award by the Tennessee Hospital Association, the highest award given to a hospital CEO, and is a board member for Hospital Alliance of Tennessee and Tennessee Hospital Association. He also has been chairman of the Boy Scouts fund-raiser for Boxwell Scout Camp, was president of Forward Sumner and serves on the Volunteer State Community College Foundation Board. |
