William R. Urga concentrates on business litigation, real estate and commercial transactions and administrative law. A native of Las Vegas, he graduated from the University of Colorado (B.S., 1967), and then received his law degree from the Hastings College of Law, University of California (J.D., 1970). At Hastings, he was elected to the Order of the Coif, and was a member of the Thurston Society. He served as Note and Comment Editor of the Hastings Law Journal, 1969-1970. In 1991, Governor Bob Miller appointed him to the Nevada Gaming Commission as a Gaming Commissioner, where he served for six years. He has also served as a member of the Board of Governors of Hastings College of Law Alumni Association, 1984-1991. From 1988-1994, he served as a member of the Disciplinary Board, Southern District of the Nevada State Bar. Mr. Urga is a member of the Litigation and Business Law sections of the American Bar Association, and a Master of the Inns of Court.
