William R. Thomas, Chairman of the Board, joined Capital Southwest in 1962 and served as President from 1980 until July, 2007, when he was named chairman in an non-executive capacity. His previous experience includes positions in the chemical industry and in a consulting firm. He has served as Chairman of the National Association of Small Business Investment Companies, Governor-at-Large of the National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD) and Chairman of the NASD’s Corporate Advisory Board. Bill Thomas’ education includes an MBA with distinction from Harvard Business School and a BS in chemical engineering from Texas A&M University. He served as a U.S. Army officer for more than 5 years and was awarded the Bronze Star, Purple Heart and Korean Service Medal with five battle stars. |
