Bill Russell is a tax principal with an emphasis on mergers, acquisitions, dispositions, accounting methods, international taxation, pass-through entities, e-commerce and high net worth individuals.
Mr. Russell recently assisted a leasing partnership in evaluating finance alternatives to maximize operating profits while minimizing federal and state taxes. He also assisted in the partnership's restructuring to provide estate planning opportunities and to minimize the imposition of state taxes on operating income and on its $92 million asset disposition. Working with a number of venture capital clients, Bill is familiar with the issues in structuring an investment partnership as well as the issues involving the portfolio entities and their choice of entity decisions.
Mr. Russell is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants, the Chattanooga Tax Practitioners, the Estate Planning Council of Chattanooga, and the Construction Financial Management Association.
He is a past president of the Orange Grove Center and the North American region of Jeffreys Henry International, and a member of the Tennessee District Export Council. He currently serves as the treasurer of the BOTA Foundation and the Tennessee Valley chapter of the Construction Financial Management Association. |
