William R. Holland was named non-executive chairman of EnPro Industries in 2001. He is the retired chairman and chief executive officer of United Dominion Industries. He was chief executive officer of that company for 14 years. During his career with United Dominion he held the positions of senior vice president administration; executive vice president; president and chief operating officer chief executive officer; and director of the company.
Holland earned his bachelor of arts and law degrees from the University of Denver. He served as a captain in the U.S. Air Force Judge Advocate General Corps. He began his law career as an attorney with Southwestern Bell Telephone in Little Rock Ark. and prior to joining United Dominion he was a partner for seven years in the law firm now known as Bridges Young Matthews and Drake in Pine Bluff Ark.
Active in civic and business affairs Holland serves on the corporate boards of directors of Goodrich Corporate and J.A. Jones Company. He is also a member of the Board of Commissioners of Carolinas HealthCare System.
He and his wife Donna have three children and two granddaughters. |
