William R. Burkhart currently is senior vice president and general counsel at The Timken Company. Mr. Burkhart joined Timken in 1994 as an attorney at company headquarters in Canton. He also served as corporate attorney, prior to being named legal counsel for the company’s Europe, Africa and West Asia (EAWA) Bearing Business Group in Colmar, France. Mr. Burkhart returned to Canton in 1998 as director affiliations and acquisitions in the company’s Law Center. He was named to his current position in 2000. Prior to joining Timken, Mr. Burkhart served as an attorney for the Pittsburgh law firm of Reed Smith Shaw & McClay LLP.
Mr. Burkhart received a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Florida and a juris doctorate degree in law from Harvard University.
Mr. Burkhart serves on the Board of Directors of the Ohio Chamber of Commerce, and on the Central Stark County United Way Vision Council Program Advisory Subcommittee. He also is currently a member of the Manufacturers' Alliance Law Council. |
