Bill is a principal and senior consultant with the Princeton, New Jersey office of Milliman.
Experience
Bill began his career in 1967 and has experience with various aspects of insurance and reinsurance. Prior to joining Milliman, Bill was a vice president of Am-Re Consultants. Prior to joining Am-Re Consultants in 1995, Bill was with American Re-Insurance Company for 11 years, serving in various capacities within the claims division. Most recently, as vice president and manager of technical operations, he was responsible for claim audits of American Re-Insurance Company's domestic claim offices, management of the claim division's value added services, and training and education. Other roles in American Re's claim division included the management of the treaty casualty department.
Bill has been involved in the handling of all primary and excess casualty and property lines of business, including workers' compensation, products liability, professional liability errors and omissions, and medical malpractice in all US venues. His consulting experience includes:
Management of claims operational reviews evaluating claims handling practices and procedures in the US, Canada, Europe, and South America
All lines case management effectiveness reviews
Management and participation in due diligence reviews related to mergers and acquisitions in the US and Europe
Case reserve analysis studies of client companies
Assessment of litigation management/expense controls
Reorganization and re-engineering of claims operations
Prior to joining American Re-Insurance Company, Bill was with Liberty Mutual Insurance Company for 17 years. At Liberty Mutual, he managed a regional claims office, handling all standard lines including workers' compensation, property, and all other casualty lines of business.
