William P. Tai is a general partner of Charles River Ventures as well as of several funds managed by Institutional Venture Partners.
He has extensive experience as an early stage investor in the enabling-technology segment. He has worked with more than 30 early-stage companies throughout a career as a venture capitalist that spans more than a decade. He serves as a director of several public companies including Microtune (TUNE) and Transmeta (TMTA) as well as several privately held companies.
Prior to becoming a venture capitalist, he established the semiconductor practice at Alex Brown and Sons where he positioned public offerings of Adaptec, Atmel, Cirrus Logic, Dallas Semiconductor, Exar, and Zilog.
He holds a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering with honors from the University of Illinois and an MBA from the Harvard Graduate School of Business. |
