Bill Murtagh was named President and Chief Operating Officer of Corinthian Colleges' CDI Post-Secondary Education Division, a newly-created position, in November 2003. Corinthian acquired CDI Education Corporation in August 2003, and its post-secondary education division encompasses over 35 colleges in seven Canadian provinces.
Mr. Murtagh has more than 20 years of experience in the education industry. Prior to joining Corinthian, he served from 2001 to 2003 as President of Irvine, California-based International Education Corporation, a 10-campus career training organization operating in three states. From 1994 to 2000, Mr. Murtagh was President, Chief Executive Officer and minority owner of Professional Training Programs, Inc. of Denver, Colorado. He became Director of Operations Southwest for Quest Education Corp., Denver, in 2000 on the sale of Professional Training Programs to Quest, a position he held until 2001. Previously, Mr. Murtagh had a decade long tenure with National Education Centers, Inc., where he held numerous leadership positions from 1983 to 1993, including Regional Director of Operations.
Mr. Murtagh holds a Bachelor of Arts degree (Political Science) from Fairfield University, Fairfield, Connecticut.
