Bill Farthing has served as Managing Partner since 2002. As Managing Partner, Mr. Farthing serves on the firm's Board of Directors and as Chief Executive Officer. In these roles, he helps establish and implement the firm's strategic directions and oversees the firm's day-to-day management and operations with the assistance of the administrative management.
In addition to his position as Managing Partner, Mr. Farthing has extensive experience in advising employers in a number of employment law areas, including the following:
Personnel counseling on executive and employee hiring, evaluation, discipline and termination
EEOC proceedings and litigation under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act and Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990
Litigation involving wrongful discharge, breach of contract, intentional infliction of emotional distress and other torts arising out of the employment relationship
Sexual harassment
Affirmative Action Plan drafting and OFCCP compliance under Executive Order 11246
Executive employment contracts
Mr. Farthing frequently lectures and participates in seminars on employment law and is available to conduct in-house management training workshops on the legal aspects of personnel and employee relations.
While at the University of North Carolina, Mr. Farthing was a member of the University of North Carolina Law Review.
