Mr. Warren, 58, is Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of the Company and is a director of the Company and each of its subsidiaries. He joined Alabama Gas Corporation in 1983 and was elected President in 1984. He was elected President and Chief Operating Officer of the Company in February, 1991, was elected President and Chief Executive Officer of Alabama Gas Corporation and Energen Resources Corporation in September, 1995, was elected Chief Executive Officer of the Company in February, 1997, and was elected Chairman of the Board in January, 1998. In addition to Energen, Mr. Warren serves as a director of one other publicly traded company Protective Life Corporation. He is also a director of Associated Electric & Gas Insurance Services Limited, a mutual insurance company serving the United States public utility industry and a member of the Board of Trustees of Birmingham- Southern College. Mr. Warren served as chairman of the American Gas Association, the national trade association for gas utilities, in 2002. |
