Mr. Thacker's practice focuses on employment law counseling and litigation as well as traditional labor law.
In law school, Mr. Thacker was Executive Editor of the University of Toledo Law Review.
Experience
Advises clients regarding the day-to-day application of federal and state employment statutes and regulations
Represents clients in employment litigation cases, such as wrongful discharge, sexual harassment and discrimination
Assists clients in the development and drafting of employment contracts and non-competition agreements
Litigates issues arising out of such agreements
Represents clients in unfair labor practice cases and representation hearings before the NLRB
Negotiates collective bargaining agreements
Represents clients in grievance arbitration proceedings
Counsels clients on collective bargaining agreement construction and application and often addresses issues of union avoidance
Counsels clients in the development and application of employment handbooks and policies
Represents clients in both state and federal courts, as well as in administrative proceedings before state and federal agencies such as the EEOC, MDCR and NLRB
