Bill Libit is a partner at Chapman and Cutler LLP and has concentrated in corporate and securities and municipal finance since 1985, when he began the practice of law at the firm. Mr. Libit's corporate and securities practice includes representation of investment banks and issuers in connection with public offerings of registered securities including initial public offerings, secondary offerings and shelf registrations of common stock, traditional preferred stock, auction rate preferred stock and debt instruments. He also represents issuers in other aspects of their business involving compliance with federal securities regulation, including preparation and review of proxy statements, press releases and required periodic filings and communications with institutional investors and other shareholders as well as corporate governance matters. Mr. Libit's municipal finance practice includes acting as issuer's counsel, bond counsel, underwriter's counsel and credit enhancer's counsel in publicly offered governmental use and private activity bond financings.
