Bill Flatley is the Managing Director of Finance for Brownfields Capital. Mr. Flatley has over 25 years experience in finance and accounting, including almost ten years in real estate.Mr. Flatley began his career with Arthur Young and Company in New York city in 1982, transferring to Denver in 1984 and becoming a Certified Public Accountant in 1985. In 1987, Mr. Flatley accepted a position with the Denver-based Western Sugar Company, an Arthur Young client and subsidiary of the UK-based sugar giant, Tate & Lyle Plc. Mr. Flatley ultimately was promoted to the position of Director of North American Finance for Tate & Lyle, Inc., in charge of the entire North American finance operations. In that role he consolidated all of the North America finance services and led a conversion of the company’s legacy software to SAP. In 1998, Mr. Flatley joined the Fortune 500 homebuilder, M.D.C. Holdings, Inc., the parent company of Richmond American Homes, serving during a time of intense growth for the company in which the number of home sales more than doubled. He was instrumental in reducing the timeframe of MDC's earnings release from almost one month to less than one week. At MDC, Mr. Flatley was involved in numerous significant real estate transactions and was promoted to Vice President and Corporate Controller of MDC in 2002. In 2005, Mr. Flatley joined Affordable Residential Communities Inc., the largest owner and operator of manufactured home communities in the United States, where he was a key player in the company's acquisition of a new insurance subsidiary. Mr. Flatley received a Bachelor’s of Business Administration with an accounting concentration from the University of Notre Dame in May 1982. |
