William L. Transier is co-founder, chairman, chief executive officer and president of Endeavour International Corporation, an independent North-Sea focused oil and gas exploration and production company. He was named to his current position in September 2006 after serving two years as co-chief executive officer. He was co-founder of North Sea New Ventures, a privately-held oil and gas exploration company that was the predecessor to Endeavour International Corporation. Previously, Transier served as executive vice president and chief financial officer for Ocean Energy, Inc., a worldwide oil and gas exploration and production company with extensive deepwater Gulf of Mexico holdings and operations in eight different countries. Transier was part of the executive management team that spearheaded the 2003 merger between Ocean and Devon Energy Corporation that created the largest independent oil and gas exploration and production company in the United States.
Prior to that position, Transier was executive vice president and chief financial officer for Seagull Energy Corporation for three years before its 1999 merger with Ocean. He began his career in public accounting with KPMG LLP, an international audit and business strategy consulting firm, where he rose to the title of partner and headed its energy practice.
He graduated from the University of Texas with a Bachelor of Business Administration and honors in accounting. He received his Masters in Business Administration from Regis University.
Transier is a director of Reliant Resources and Helix Energy Solutions, Inc. He is a former chairman of the Natural Gas Supply Association, director of the Independent Petroleum Association of America, and was appointed as chairman of the Texas Online Authority and Department of Information Resources by Texas Governor Rick Perry. His memberships include the American Petroleum Institute, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Texas Society of CPAs. |
