Mr. Griffin started in the oil and gas Industry as a Petroleum Landman for Griffin Oil Company in 1978, and has an extensive knowledge in the development of oil and gas plays in Southwestern Mississippi and the Florida Parishes of Louisiana.
Specifically, Mr. Griffin has over 30 years of exposure in developing Lower Tuscaloosa, Frio, Wilcox, Sparta, Cotton Valley, and Smackover formations.
Mr. Griffin was born and raised in Southwestern Mississippi and has developed significant relationships with the land and mineral owners in the community. These relationships have allowed Griffin & Griffin Exploration to enjoy very favorable lease terms over the last 20 years.
He has bought and sold oil, gas, and mineral leases, overriding royalties, mineral rights in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee, and Texas. Found, bought and sold producing properties in Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Tennessee. He has worked to secure drilling contracts, acquired pipeline rights-of-way, generated prospects, raised funds to drill and complete said prospects and, in most instances, sold reserves found. He has negotiated a variety of energy deals with Exxon, Shell, Texaco, Mobil, Amoco, Anadarko, Arkla, Energen, Unocal, Patterson Drilling, Pan Energy Field Services, Texas Eastern Gas Co., Mid-La Gas Co., Koch Hydrocarbons, Fortson Oil, JAMEX, Inc., Placid Oil Co., Pruet Oil Co., Panhandle Royalty Co., Harrell Petroleum, Tenneco, Champlin Petroleum, Clayton Williams, Sinclair Oil Company, and Pennington Oil Company.
Mr. Griffin is a member of various professional and civic activities in the Jackson, Mississippi, community including such organizations as Mid Continent Oil and Gas association and the Mississippi Association of Petroleum Landmen to name a few.
He graduated from the University of Mississippi with an undergraduate degree in Liberal Arts. |
