William J. Whelan, III is a partner in the Firm’s Corporate Department. Since 1993, Bill has devoted the majority of his time to representing investment banks in high yield offerings. He also has been Cravath’s lead lawyer on a number of initial public offerings as well as follow-on equity offerings.
Bill heads Cravath’s internal continuing legal education program for corporate lawyers. He has conducted many training sessions on high yield covenants and securities laws for the bankers and lawyers of the Firm’s investment banking clients.
Bill was born in New York, New York. He joined Cravath in 1984, became a senior attorney in 1990 and a partner in 1998.
