Bill Rainey joined Longs as Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary in March 2003. A native of Oregon, he earned a Bachelor's degree from Harvard University and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Michigan Law School. His career began in 1971 as an attorney with Curtis, Mallet-Provost, Colt and Mosle, an international corporate law firm in New York. He left private practice in 1976 to join Weyerhaeuser Company and has served as general counsel for Southwest Forest Industries (now Stone Container Corporation), Valley National Corporation (now Banc One AZ), Cabot Corporation and Fourth Financial Corporation (now Bank of America). Immediately prior to joining Longs Drug Stores, Mr. Rainey was Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of Payless ShoeSource, Inc. |
