William J. Nelligan is president, Americas, responsible for IMS operations in the U.S., Canada and Latin America. He was named to the position in November 2006, following two years as head of the IMS Americas Strategic Partners group. In that role, he was responsible for business development activities for a number of acquisitions and alliances, drove compliance with third-party access agreements and built relationships with key data supply partners.
With more than a decade of experience in the healthcare information marketplace, Mr. Nelligan joined IMS in 2000 and has held several key management positions, including senior vice president, Emerging Markets, and president, IMS Asia Pacific, where he managed operations in 18 countries and significantly expanded IMS’s business in that region.
Before joining IMS, Nelligan served as vice president of Wind Corporation, a global sourcing service provider in the hardware component marketplace and, prior to that, was a director of international business for Goodway Technologies, an industrial products manufacturer. From 1989 to 1997, he held various sales and marketing and international business development positions with Medical Economics, Inc. a member of the Thomson Healthcare Information Group, an operating unit of Thomson Corporation.
Nelligan holds a B.S. degree in finance from Ithaca College, Ithaca, NY.
