William H. Miller is vice president - Information Services and chief information officer for Harris Corporation. He is responsible for application development and support, global computing and network operations, worldwide telecommunications services, enterprise security, employee collaboration, and IT architecture.
Mr. Miller joined Harris in 1985 as a senior engineer with the company's former Semiconductor business. Since then he has held engineering and management positions of increasing responsibility. He served as director of Harris' Corporate Information Technology Advisory Staff through 1997 and was promoted to vice president of Corporate Information Management in 1998. He was named to his current position in July 1999.
Mr. Miller has a bachelor's degree in engineering from Loyola College in Maryland, a master's degree in materials science from the University of Virginia, and an M.B.A. from the University of Central Florida.
He serves on the Advisory Board of the Information Management Forum, is a charter member of the Manufacturers Alliance/MAPI IT Council, and is a member of the American Management Association's Information Systems and Technology Council. Mr. Miller also serves as an executive sponsor of the University of Central Florida's ORBIT consortium and CIO Community of Practice. |
