Bill Easter is chairman, president and chief executive officer of DCP Midstream, LLC (formerly Duke Energy Field Services), one of the nation's largest natural gas gatherers, the largest natural gas liquids (NGLs) producer and one of the largest NGL marketers. Easter was named to his current position in January 2004. Easter was named to the board of directors for DCP Midstream Partners on Nov. 25, 2005. He is a member of the compensation committee.
Easter has had a 30-year career in the areas of natural gas supply and marketing, transportation, refining and petroleum marketing for Conoco and ConocoPhillips. He joined Conoco in 1971 and held a number of increasingly responsible positions including: manager and director -- natural gas supply in Houston; division manager -- Western division transportation in Denver; general manager -- corporate purchasing in Houston; managing director and CEO -- Conoco Jet Nordic in Stockholm, Sweden; general manager -- Gulf Coast business unit in Lake Charles; and vice president -- state government affairs for ConocoPhillips in Houston.
Easter currently serves as a member of the board of directors for Junior Achievement Rocky Mountain Inc. and the University of Colorado at Denver Business School board of advisors. In addition to serving on the boards of Junior Achievement in Houston and Lake Charles, he also served as chairman of the boards of directors for Louisiana Mid-Continent Oil & Gas Association and the Chamber of Commerce for Southwest Louisiana. In Sweden, he served as vice chairman of the American Chamber of Commerce and a member of the Fulbright Commission. Easter is a recipient of the National Eagle Leadership Institute Eagle Leadership Award, the DuPont Marketing Excellence Award and the Conoco Distinguished Community Service Award. He is also a member of the Executive Leadership Council and was named as one of the 75 Most Powerful African Americans in Corporate America by Black Enterprise magazine in January 2005.
He earned a bachelor's degree in business administration -- finance from the University of Houston and a master’s degree in management from Stanford Graduate School of Business.
