Bill has over 25 years of experience in surgical services management, inventory control, nursing, healthcare administration, supply chain and infection control. His ability to communicate with clinicians and physicians has assisted more than 50 hospital and health care organizations achieve remarkable results.
Professional Experience
Prior to joining Huron, Bill was a Director at Wellspring Partners, now a Huron Consulting Group Practice, specializing in non-labor cost reduction, supply chain management and surgical services. He served as a conduit to physicians, providing them information and gaining their input and but-in throughout the project.
Bill served for several years on the NORA Infection Disease Team for the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH). He also served as Assistant Vice President for Surgical Services at Baylor Health Care System, Dallas, Texas where he administered all activities for the nation's largest operating room organization with more than 70 operating rooms.

Conducted numerous surgical environment assessments identifying labor and non-labor cost reduction opportunities.
Led implementation of numerous operating room and medical surgical non-labor cost reduction initiatives at 15 hospitals resulting in millions of dollars of savings at each organization with a focus on utilization, standardization and contract renegotiation of physician preference items.
Led implementation of non-labor and supply revenue enhancement project at a two hospital system in the Pacific Northwest which resulted in $10M in annual realized bottom line impact.
Implemented process improvements and/or redesign activities resulting in millions of dollars of costs avoidance and/or costs reductions for healthcare organizations.
Advised hospital organizations and physician groups on physician relationship building, resolution of conflicts and contract negotiations.
Facilitated management development for individual managers and management teams.
Implemented customized, facility specific, block scheduling/modified block scheduling with high satisfaction of physicians and hospital.
Founded Baylor's Surgical Services Institute. Produced several award-winning educational videos for surgical nurses and staff. Developed and took to a global market the Know Your Client healthcare manufacturer train program.
