Bill Capp has been Beacon Power President and CEO since December 2001. Prior to joining Beacon, Bill was the Telecommunications Group President of Bracknell Corporation, providing infrastructure for the telecommunications industry, with annual sales of $350 million and 30 regional offices in the U.S. and Canada. From 1997-2000, he served as President of York International’s Northfield Division. From 1978-1997, Bill held numerous positions at Ingersoll-Rand. From 1992-1997, he was Vice President and General Manager of the Centrifugal Compressor Division, where he was responsible for over 700 employees. From 1989-1992, Bill was Vice President of Technology for The Torrington Company, a $900+ million manufacturer of bearings and precision components. Prior to joining Ingersoll-Rand, he worked for Ford's Truck Division in areas such as project engineering, systems analysis, and product planning. Bill received his B.S. degree in Aeronautical Engineering from Purdue University and his MBA and M.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Michigan. He has also completed the Black Belt Training Program from the American Society for Quality. |
