William E. Hansen is an associate in the law firm of McDermott Will & Emery LLP based in the Firm's Washington, D.C. office. He is a member of the Employee Benefits Department.
In the summer of 2005, Will worked at the United States Department of Treasury, Office of Benefits Tax Counsel, where he assisted on various matters related to current and future regulation drafting projects.
While in law school, Will worked for The John Marshall Law Review and was an Associate Justice for the Moot Court Honor Society.
Will is currently the co-chair of the Young Lawyers in Employee Benefits Forum for the ABA Tax Section, co-chair of the Important Developments and Publications Committee for the ABA Tax Section, and serves as the Young Lawyer Liaison for the Executive Compensation Subcommittee for the ABA Tax Section. Will was also chosen as a 2008-2009 John S. Nolan Fellow by the ABA Tax Section.
He is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia and Illinois.
