Bill is a retired partner in the litigation department and former chair of the department. As a trial attorney, Bill has handled a wide variety of cases; but he focuses his practice on advising clients on employment law matters and on litigating employment law cases. During the course of his career, Bill has prosecuted and defended hundreds of cases, many of which have been tried to jury verdict.
Representative Matters
Defended a claim in federal court for age discrimination brought by the local manager of a national life insurance company as a result of the termination of his employment.
Defended a claim alleging discrimination based on religion.
Defended a claim alleging discrimination based on race and sex.
Prosecution of a claim by a large construction company against its former CFO, seeking enforcement of a shareholder agreement that required a terminated employee to sell his stock to the company at a specified price.
Defense of U.S. subsidiary of an Italian company against claims of wrongful discharge, slander, breach of contract, and misappropriation of inventions brought by its former CEO.
