William C. Carey joined the firm as a partner in 1983. He is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and of the American Bar Foundation. In 2001, he was honored by the Trial Attorneys of New Jersey for distinguished service in the cause of justice. He was admitted to the New Jersey bar and the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey in 1969, and to the New York bar in 1984; he has been a Certified Civil Trial Attorney of New Jersey since the designation was introduced in 1982. He has extensive litigation experience and has concentrated his practice in the areas of product liability and insurance defense. A graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University and Seton Hall University School of Law, he represents a number of prominent manufacturing corporations, including several self-insured companies, and insurance carriers in the defense of products liability and property, personal injury, and casualty claims. He has considerable experience in general coverage issues arising in the pharmaceutical, environmental, and casualty fields. Mr. Carey has served as President of the Essex County Bar Association in 1990 and as President of the Trial Attorneys of New Jersey in 1991. He has been appointed to several New Jersey Supreme Court committees studying litigation issues and to the Court's Standing Committee on Minority Concerns. He is a Diplomat of the American Board of Trial Advocates, and a member of the American and New Jersey State Bar Associations. Mr. Carey has also been named as a Super Lawyer in New Jersey for 2008. He has lectured numerous times on trial techniques and product liability issues for the New Jersey Institute of Continuing Legal Education and has spent many years as a Master of the Worrall Mountain and Seton Hall Law School Inns of Court. |
