Prior to joining Flight Safety Technologies, Capt. Cotton was a United Airlines pilot for 33 years and served as their chief technical pilot and manager of Air Traffic & Flight Systems for 14 years. In the latter position, he led the airline's efforts to improve air traffic control throughout the industry and helped upgrade the company's aircraft for safety and efficiency. Capt. Cotton is a former President and Chairman of the Board of ATN Systems Inc., a consortium of airlines developing Aeronautical Telecommunications Network (ATN) products; this worldwide data network supports data communication connectivity among several sources. He holds B.Sc. and M.S. degrees in Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering from the University of Illinois and from MIT, respectively. |
