Bill Zurilla was named vice president and chief financial officer of Ottaway Newspapers, Inc., on Jan. 1, 1999. He directs corporate accounting, financial reporting, internal audits and tax reporting. He came to Ottaway corporate headquarters in 1984 as assistant controller after a career with the Brill Media Corporation in Evansville, Indiana; Worrell Newspapers, Inc in Charlottesville, VA; and Arthur Andersen & Co., public accountants in Washington, D.C.
He was named ONI controller on Jan. 1, 1988. On Jan. 1, 1994 he was promoted to vice president/financial operations and controller. He earned his BS from Pennsylvania State University, a Masters of Business Administration from Syracuse University in 2004 and is a certified public accountant. He is a past president and former Board member of the International Newspaper Financial Executives, a member of the National Association of Accountants, and a member of the Publishers Committee for the New York State Certified Public Accounts Association.
Bill is married (wife, Kathleen) and has four children, Jacob, Anne, Sarah, and Stephen. |
