Bill assists in preparing and prosecuting U.S. and foreign utility and design patent applications for publicly and privately-held businesses, institutional clients and individuals. He works closely with clients to prepare and prosecute trademark applications and, in matters of licensing, trade secrets, patent infringement and validity concerns. Bill also prepares non-infringement and patentability opinions, trademark adoption and registerability opinions, and counsels clients on general intellectual property matters. Bill has significant experience in the intellectual property of medical devices, plumbing apparatuses, consumer products and general mechanical arts. President of St. Vincent de Paul Society Conference at St. Stephen Church, Bill also is a member of the Ohio and Cleveland Bar Associations and the Intellectual Property Association. Bill was employed as a production engineer at Westinghouse Electric Corporation prior to law school. From 1995-2000 he worked for Manco, Inc. as a strategic sourcing buyer. Bill was an attorney with Watts Hoffmann Co., LPA prior to joining Calfee in 2004. |
