William A. Etherington is a director and the Non-Executive Chairman of the Board of the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce. He also serves on the boards of Dofasco Inc, MDS Inc. and The Relizon Company (a private equities firm), and is a member of the President's Council, The University of Western Ontario. Mr. Etherington is the former Senior Vice President and Group Executive, Sales and Distribution, IBM Corporation, and Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of IBM World Trade Corporation. After joining IBM Canada in 1964, he ran successively larger portions of the company's business in Canada, Latin America, Europe and from the corporate office in Armonk, New York, retiring from IBM with over 37 years of service. Mr. Etherington holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and a Doctor of Laws (Hon.) from the University of Western Ontario. |
