EXPERIENCE
Will manages projects from layout to installation, including:
Converting customer’s needs into a functional specification
Planning the physical layout and requirements of the system
Coordinating suppliers, software developers, and customers to ensure that the project moves forward efficiently.
Testing and debugging during development
Onsite installation, testing, and commissioning
Coordinating and producing training and other documentation materials for the end user
PRIOR EXPERIENCE
Project Management
Will served in the U.S. Navy for eleven years. In that capacity he supervised the installation of two multi-million dollar submarine simulator trainers. He directed a staff of more than 60 maintenance and operations personnel, and he managed division budgets for three years.
He also developed a computer based tracking system for all Quality Assurance work on board to improve the speed at which controlled work packages could be approved and audited.
Training
Will developed and taught improved methods of operation, based on submarine best practices, to over 2000 personnel from ten different submarines. He taught submarine tactical warfare and operations to 4000 crewmembers.
He also initiated standardized scenarios and metrics to prepare submarines for successful six month deployments, while providing consultation to five Pacific fleet submarines on the operations of the MARK 48 Torpedo and Tomahawk missile. One special program he developed was
Sub Week, an interactive program introducing submarine culture and career paths to 900+ midshipmen from the US Naval Academy and 30+ universities.
