Will Cureton co-founded CLB Partners in 1997. His overall responsibilities include the oversight of day-to-day operations new projects contract negotiations site acquisition on-going development and all financial activities. Cureton has over 25 years of extensive business real estate development and investment experience.
Since its inception CLB's developments total over $405 million. It's flagship development 2011 Cedar Springs Road was completed in the last quarter of 2000; 1999 McKinney the 62-unit luxury residence located north of downtown Dallas was completed in August 2002; the first phase of Park Laurel on the Prado a 99-unit luxury high-rise located in San Diego was completed in September 2003; Austin City Lofts an 82-unit high-rise loft condominium development in Austin was completed in early 2004; and Seahaus La Jolla Condominiums is under construction with completion expected spring 2005.
As Chief Operating Officer of Columbus Realty Trust Cureton directed the Dallas based self-administered and self-managed REIT in becoming the market leader in the development of residential communities in the Uptown district of Dallas. Columbus' stock was listed on the New York Stock Exchange until October 1997 when it was acquired by Post Properties an Atlanta-based multi-family REIT. At the time of the acquisition Columbus properties represented an aggregate value of more than $500 million.
Before his tenure at Columbus Cureton was co-founder of Texana a commercial real estate investment and property management company. Under his guidance as President and Chief Executive Officer the firm completed two major acquisitions totaling $80 million during its first year of operations. These transactions were comprised of land office and industrial space multi-family and retail properties.
Prior to becoming a successful businessman Cureton was known for his athletic abilities. Cureton was quarterback for the Cleveland Browns until his retirement in 1976 to pursue a public accounting career with Coopers & Lybrand in Dallas. His professional background also includes a seven-year tenure as Vice President/Chief Operating Officer of The DicoGroup Inc. a Dallas-based real estate investment company which under his direction successfully developed a 200-acre mixed-use project in Albuquerque and a 424-unit apartment complex in San Francisco.
Cureton serves on the Board of Directors for The Real Estate Council as well as its Associate Leadership Council. Furthermore he was a member of the Board for CityHomes and is a Director of the Ferndale Club.
A native of Whitewright Texas Cureton received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in accounting from East Texas State University (now Texas A&M University Commerce). In 1993 Cureton was honored with an induction into the East Texas State University Athletic Hall of Fame where he played football. He has served on the Board of Directors of the Mayo Foundation for his alma mater. |
