R. Wesley Nichols is a Manager in the Valuation & Financial Opinions Group. Mr. Nichols has domestic and international experience providing valuations of tangible assets and related consulting projects. He has provided valuation and consulting services for numerous purposes including bankruptcy proceedings, corporate strategic planning, insurance, purchase price allocation (SFAS 141), goodwill impairment (SFAS 142), accounting for the impairment of long-lived assets (SFAS 144), property tax appeals, secured lending, general consulting (useful live determination, obsolescence studies, etc.) and other tax, corporate, and litigation related matters. Mr. Nichols has significant experience in a wide range of industries including automotive, aerospace, telecommunications, advertising, lumber, confectionary, consumer products, glass manufacturing, medical equipment manufacturing, healthcare, packaging products, plastics manufacturing, circuit board manufacturing, metalworking, general manufacturing, and utilities. Mr. Nichols also has experience providing fixed asset management services for several purposes including assisting clients in organizing their property records for efficient future asset management and reducing personal property tax by identifying unrecorded retirements and underutilized or idle assets. Mr. Nichols has provided fixed asset management services for clients in the healthcare, automotive, nutritional product manufacturing, and metal fabrication industries. Prior to joining our firm, Mr. Nichols was a manager with CBIZ Valuation Group, and a valuation consultant with Deloitte & Touche LLP s Financial Advisory Services Group. In these roles, Mr. Nichols performed and supervised numerous valuation and fixed asset management consulting engagements. Mr. Nichols earned a BS in Industrial Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He is an Accredited Senior Appraiser (ASA) in the Machinery and Technical Specialties discipline of the American Society of Appraisers. |
