Dr. Zhang received his Ph.D from the University of Pittsburgh under the direction of the late Prof. Paul Dowd. After a two-year stay at the same University as a Research Assistant Professor, he joined DuPont in 1995 and worked over there for 5 years. He is now leading the research effort at FTI focused on the development of fluorous technologies for solution-phase high-throughput synthesis. Over the years, Dr. Zhang has gained extensive experience of both industrial and academic research in the areas of lead discovery, free radical chemistry, heterocyclic chemistry, fluorous high-throughput synthesis, and microwave-assisted organic synthesis. He has an outstanding publication record of 60 peer-reviewed papers including 2 book chapters and 8 review articles and 5 patents and patent applications. He has delivered numerous invited lectures and conference presentations. |
