Dr. Hockmeyer has served as a director of GenVec since December 2000. Dr. Hockmeyer is a member of the Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee and is the Chairman of the Compensation Committee. Dr. Hockmeyer founded MedImmune, Inc. in 1988. Dr. Hockmeyer earned his bachelor’s degree from Purdue University and his Ph.D. from the University of Florida in 1972. Dr. Hockmeyer was recognized in 1998 by the University of Florida as a Distinguished Alumunus and in 2002, Dr. Hockmeyer was awarded a Doctor of Science honoris causa from Purdue University.
Dr. Hockmeyer is a member of the Maryland Economic Development Commission and the Maryland Governor's Workforce Investment Board (GWIB). He is also a member of the Board of Directors of Middlebrook Pharmaceutical Corp., Baxter International, Inc., Idenix Pharmaceuticals, Inc., and TolerRx, Inc. and serves on the boards of several educational and philanthropic organizations. |
