Biography
Wayne B. Whitham is a partner in the firm’s Corporate and Securities practice group. He is a 1982 graduate of Texas Tech University School of Law and received his bachelor of arts in 1979 from Vanderbilt University.
Mr. Whitham has over 20 years of experience in counseling public and closely-held companies and individuals in general corporate, securities, and partnership matters. He has handled mergers, acquisitions, dispositions, leveraged acquisitions and recapitalizations, venture capital transactions, securities offerings, financings and joint ventures, partnerships, and similar matters. Mr. Whitham has worked on behalf of clients from a broad range of industries, including manufacturing companies, real estate firms, technology firms, retailers, communications companies, and oil and natural gas producers.
Wayne and his wife of 23 years, Betty, have two sons, Tate and Tanner, and three Labs. Wayne enjoys traveling, clay target shooting, hunting, golfing and movies.

Represented a large public software company in connection with over 25 strategic stock and asset acquisitions. These transactions ranged in size from $1 million to $200 million

Represented oil and gas service provider and its 15 shareholders in connection with a substantial equity investment by a private equity fund and concurrent bank financings related thereto. Represented numerous small, medium and large private equity, real estate and/or hedge funds in connection with their organization and private offerings of limited partnership interests, as well as in connection with their subsequent investments, acquisitions, dispositions, and financings related thereto. Successfully negotiated with small, medium and large fund investors and their counsel. Those funds have involved total commitments in excess of $500 million
