Warren Cooke became a partner in the Global Finance Department of Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy LLP in 1980. His practice involves principally transactional work on behalf of U.S. and non-U.S. financial institutions and includes investment grade lending, leveraged finance, export and trade finance, project finance, structured finance and debt restructuring.
Mr. Cooke joined Milbank in 1972. From 1978 to l987, Mr. Cooke was resident in the Firm's Hong Kong office. From 1988 to 1991 he was a member of the Firm's Long-Range Planning Committee and from 1991 to 1995 he was a member of its Compensation Committee. Mr. Cooke is the Chairman of the Firm's Professional Development Committee, Chairman of the Firm's Opinion Committee, Co-Chairman of its Risk Management Committee, and Director of its International Attorney Program.
Mr. Cooke is the author of a variety of articles on such topics as syndicated credit documentation, the U.S. regulation of non-U.S. banks, foreign exchange regulations, the Uniform Commercial Code, secured transactions, letters of credit and sovereign immunity. He has lectured on financial services law to audiences in Asia, Eastern Europe and elsewhere. Mr. Cooke was listed in Chambers USA for his work with Latin American Investments and was recommended in PLC Which Lawyer? for banking.
Mr. Cooke is a member of the American and New York City Bar Associations and the American Society for International Law. He is Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees of The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, NJ, and a member of the Board of Trustees of the American Bird Conservancy. Mr. Cooke is a graduate of Dartmouth College and Yale Law School. |
