Warren Cooper is a UK-trained physician with over 20 years of leadership experience in the US, UK and international pharmaceutical industry. His roles have encompassed clinical development, clinical operations management and general management. In 1999, Warren founded Coalescence Inc. which is engaged in high-level strategic consulting at the intersections of product development and commercialization for the healthcare and pharmaceutical industries. In the position of President of Coalescence Inc., his clients have spanned the major global pharmaceutical companies, a series of smaller pharmaceutical, biotechnology, device companies and several startup ventures. His particular focus has been on early commercial guidance of new product development and the appropriate staffing and technical infrastructure design to optimize new products. Warren’s principal experience within the global pharmaceutical industry was as head of worldwide clinical operations for Merck Research Laboratories. He moved from Merck to the startup joint venture Astra-Merck (subsequently part of AstraZeneca) where he held the leadership position for the cardiovascular business division of the company. His responsibilities have thus extended to both development and commercial arenas and he is most effective at the challenging interface of these disciplines in support of product success. Beyond the technical specifics of development and commercial management, Warren is skilled in various key areas that include general management with full P&L responsibility, visionary business strategy and new business development as well as dynamic organizational design and change management. He has lead corporate restructuring and fresh engineering initiatives with Merck, Astra-Merck and other client companies. In addition to his role with Coalescence Inc., Warren has held advisory positions with a variety of organizations that include the American Heart Association, Conceptis Technologies, Allertech LLC and Zargis Medical Corporation. He is also a board member of Nutrition 21 Inc. |
