Prof. Olanow is the Henry P. and Georgette Goldschmidt Professor and Chairman of the Department of Neurology and Professor of Neuroscience at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City. He is also the Chief of the Neurology Service at the Mount Sinai Hospital. He served on the faculties of McGill University, Duke University, and the University of South Florida prior to assuming his present position. Prof. Olanow has authored more than 300 publications primarily related to PD and neurodegeneration. He is treasurer of the American Neurological Association and was previously president of the Movement Disorder Society and the International Society of Motor Disturbances. He has been named an honorary professor at the University of London (Royal Free Hospital) and an honorary member of the French Neurological Society. He has served on numerous editorial and scientific advisory boards and has lectured at universities and conferences throughout the world. He received his medical degree from the University of Toronto, performed his neurology training at the New York Neurological Institute at Columbia University and did post-graduate studies in neuroanatomy at Columbia University. |
