Dr. Ciciora is a consultant specializing in Cable Television, Consumer Electronics and Telecommunications technology. He is also Executive Vice President & CTO of HBA-Matchmaker-Media, as well as co-founder, EVP and CTO of EnCamera Science Corporation. Dr. Ciciora coauthored Modern Cable Television Technology, winning the "Cable Center 2000" book award. Walt is the Senior Lecturer for the Cable & Telecommunications Association for Marketing (CTAM). Dr. Ciciora has 14 patents issued and several more pending. He has presented over 200 papers and has published about 100, two of which have received awards from the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE). He has also written monthly columns for several key industry trade journals. Before entering his current roles, Dr. Ciciora was Vice President of Technology at Time Warner Cable. Prior to that, he was Director of Sales and Marketing for the cable division of Zenith Electronics. Dr. Ciciora has served on several industry standard-setting committees. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE), the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (SMPTE) and the Society of Cable Telecommunication Engineers (SCTE). Walt received the "1987 NCTA Vanguard Award for Science and Technology" and was named "1990 Man of the Year" in 1990 and 1993 by CED magazine. He was the fall 1994 Levenson Memorial Lecturer at Penn State University, and in 2000, he was nominated to the Academy of Digital Television Pioneers and the SCTE Circle of Eagles. Dr. Ciciora has a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT), a BSEE and MSEE from IIT, and an MBA from the University of Chicago. |
