Walter Johnston is vice president of Power Delivery in the Transmission and Distribution business unit of Southern California Edison (SCE). Elected to that position on January 1, 2005, he is responsible for operations, maintenance, and construction of SCE's 12,000-mile transmission and 88,000-mile distribution system.
Prior to becoming vice president, Johnston was the managing director of Power Delivery's construction and maintenance unit where he oversaw all transmission, substation, and distribution maintenance and construction activities at SCE. Previously, he was the director of Substation Construction and Maintenance, responsible for SCE's approximately 900 substations.
He began his career with SCE in 1969 as an engineer trainee. He has held numerous positions in engineering, construction, project management, and organizational management.
Johnston graduated cum laude with a B.S. in engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles. |
