Waheed Zaman joined Chiquita Brands International in Febuary 2004 as chief information officer, later assuming increased reponsibilities for global procurement and supply chain functions. He reports to CEO Fernando Aguirre and is a member of the Chiquita Management Committee.
Before joining Chiquita, Zaman spent 15 years with Procter & Gamble, joining the company in 1988 in Saudi Arabia. He set-up P&G's information technology department in the Arabian Peninsula. For three years, he was the business information systems leader for a $600,000 million business leading the manufacturing resource planning (MRP2) program and implementation of a fully integrated enterprise resource planning (ERP) system. Zaman then led the IT program in Latin America North, responsible for IT in Mexico and Central America in a $1 billion business.
Moving to the United States in 1998, Zaman led P&G's worldwide IT Knowledge Management program. From 2000 to 2001, he held various assignments as IT architect for e-business in the North America and Supply Chain business units. Before joining Chiquita, he led the IT Supply Chain implementation and service management organization across North America and Latin America.
Zaman started his IT career as a systems engineer with the largest office equipment supplier in the Arabian Peninsula, Jeraisy Computer Services. He gained extensive experience in marketing and pre-sales for a full range of IT products and services in the six years that he spent with that company.
Zaman is a graduate of Dartmouth College with majors in policy studies and computer science. |
