W.C. Hammett is the executive vice-president and CFO for Dallas-based Pegasus, Solutions, a global leader in providing technology and services to hotels and travel distributors. Ensuring that Pegasus does the right things to remain profitable, W.C. Hammett certainly has a passion for the numbers. He leads the teams responsible for the company’s global financial planning, treasury, tax, and strategic and profitability planning.
Prior to his tenure at Pegasus, Hammett served as a strong member on several financial teams in both the restaurant and hospitality industries. Mr. Hammett started his career in public accounting with PricewaterhouseCoopers in 1968 and then served as controller for Spartan Food Systems Incorporated between 1973 and 1988. During that time, Spartan Foods grew from 70 to over 600 Hardee's and Quincy's brand restaurants in 10 states. Hammett was with Motel 6, an operator of over 800 hotels throughout the United States, for four years serving as its executive vice president and chief financial officer. Hammett then joined La Quinta Inns, Incorporated which operated a national chain of over 300 hotels. There held the position of senior vice president of accounting and administration before being promoted to chief financial officer. During his time with La Quinta, Hammett helped to increase the company’s market capitalization from less than $200 million to more than $2 billion.
Hammett has been a vice-chairman on the Pegasus board since 1992, and joined the corporate team as the executive vice-president and CFO in 2006. |
