Vladimir R. Rossman is a partner in the law firm of McDermott Will & Emery LLP based in the Firm's New York office. As a member of the Firm's Corporate Department as well as the finance & banking practice and private equity practice, he focuses on bank finance, securitization, restructurings and workouts. He represents buyout groups, investment and commercial banks, central banks and private and public companies in high-visibility, complex, U.S. and crossborder financings, some of which have been listed in Chambers Global (top syndicated loans for 2003) and in the LPC League Tables for 2004. This work gained him recognition in Chambers Global's and Chambers USA's "Leaders in Their Field" and Euromoney's "Guide to the World's Leading Banking Lawyers," as well as an AV peer-review rating in Martindale's.
He is a member of the American Bar Association, the New York City Bar Association ad the New York County Lawyer's Association. He is currently Senior Survey Editor of The Business Lawyer and a member of The Business Lawyer's Editorial Advisory Board, as well as a member of and a committee reporter for The Working Group on Legal Opinions (ABA Section of Business Law).
Vladimir received a B.A. from Columbia College, cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa, and a diploma from The Juilliard School in 1968; an M.A. and a Ph.D. from Columbia University Graduate School of Arts and Sciences (where he was a recipient of a Woodrow Wilson Fellowship and a Presidential Faculty Fellowship, and where he also rose to the rank of assistant professor) in 1969 and 1972, respectively; and a J.D. from Columbia University Law School, with a certificate from The Parker School of Foreign and Comparative Law, in 1978. He is a member of the New York Bar.
His foreign languages include French, Italian and Romanian, and he has a reading familiarity with German, Spanish and Russian.
