Representative Experience
Advises and represents clients on appellate litigation matters pending or contemplated in state and federal appellate courts, as well as in original actions brought in Ohio's appellate courts.
Advises and represents clients seeking or opposing discretionary appellate review in the Ohio Supreme Court. Has also assisted clients in successfully obtaining writ relief in original actions brought in the Ohio Supreme Court.
Assists clients in appellate court litigation in state and federal courts of appeals and in the Ohio Supreme Court.
Drafted several briefs to the Ohio Supreme Court for clients appearing as amici curiae in cases involving legal issues of particular importance to the law of Ohio.
Represents employers in employment related litigation, including matters involving alleged violations of state and federal anti-discrimination laws.
Counsels clients on compliance with state and federal employment laws.
Assists clients with review and drafting of employment agreements.
Has represented public and private clients in election-related litigation.
Served as Judicial Law Clerk to Ohio Supreme Court Justice Deborah L. Cook. Also served as Judicial Law Clerk to Judge William H. Harsha III of the Ohio Fourth District Court of Appeals.
Began his legal career as an associate in the Public Law Department for the firm of Rutan & Tucker, LLP, in Orange County, California; provided litigation and counseling services for public and private clients in several areas, including employment law and civil rights law; won defense verdict as lead counsel representing city and two police officers in a civil rights lawsuit alleging excessive force.
During law school, served as a Judicial Extern to California Supreme Court Justice Ming W. Chin.
