With nearly 20 years of experience, Virgina Anagnos has cultivated a broad and diveerse career in media realtions and commu8nications, Since joining Goodman Media International, Inc. in 2000, anagnos has developed and directed strategic public relations campaigns for a range of clients, including Americans for the Arts, Discover magazine, Hess, Mercis bv, Penguin Group, Scholastic Corporation, Sony Electronics, U.S. News & World Report, among others. She has spearheaded major national campaigns and initiatives, including the U.S. launch of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix and Harry potter and the Half-Blood Prince, which became the most successful book launch in history and yielded unprecedented worldwide media coverage. Her work and leadership on the MIFFY and FRIENDS campaign earned her a sear on the international jubilee team. Anagnos began her professional career working in investor relations for Albert Frank-Guenther Law, inc., a subsidiary of Foote, Cone & Belding (now the Interpublic Penguin Group). As Publicity Manager, she executed publicity campaigns for a number of noted authors and historical figures, such as President Jimmy Carter, Rosa Parks, and Ryan White. She received the Penguin USA President's Award for her work on the New York Times bestselling book, Brother Eagle, Sister Sky. Moving to HarperColluns in 1993 afforded Anagnos the opportunity to work with such high-profile celebrity authors as Jamie Lee Curtis, Noami Judd Juddy and many others. She directed the division's corporate communications and helped launch several successful series, including A series of Unfortunate Events and Harper Growing Tree. In addition to fostering new talent, Anagnos worked with legenday authors Maurice Sendak and Eric Carle and helped expand the branding and lecagy of such children's literary classics as Goodnight Moon, Charlotte's Web, Little House on the Prairie, and Where the Sidewalk Ends. In addition to dozens of author tours, she planned and coordinated a spectrum of special ecents-everything form a Little House covered wagon parade in Boston, MA, to a national travelling photo exhibit to the 35th anniversary gala for Where the Wild Things Are.
