Virgil L. Winland was named senior vice president of manufacturing for Worthington Industries in January of 2001. Winland is responsible for coordinating best practices throughout all business units driving cost reduction efforts and works with all Worthington business units to assess develop and monitor their manufacturing plans.
Winland joined Worthington in 1971 when the company acquired the cylinders business from Lennox Industries. Winland was a production worker at Lennox prior to serving numerous operating positions in the Worthington Cylinders division. He was named vice president of manufacturing in 1985 and group vice president of Worthington Cylinders in 1995. In 1998 Winland was named group president of Worthington Cylinders.
A native of Columbus Ohio Winland and his wife have four children.
